In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top 5 music and podcasts applications on the Android platform in Romania showed diverse trends in their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at their performance.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts experienced fluctuations in its weekly downloads, starting at around 7.4K at the beginning of October and peaking at 13.1K in late November. Active users also showed a gradual increase, reaching approximately 937K by the end of November.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts displayed a steady growth in weekly downloads, which rose from about 5.7K in early October to over 9K by the end of December. Active users saw a significant increase, climbing from around 278K in early October to approximately 327K by the end of December.

YouTube Music also saw an upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 4.9K in late September and reaching around 6K by the end of December. Active users demonstrated consistent growth, peaking at nearly 934K in late December.
